Official statement from AAHGC

 

Once again an African American, someone’s son who looks like me, has died in police custody. To say the footage is disturbing is a gross understatement. We continue to lose our lives at the hands of the people who have sworn to protect those lives. Termination of employment is not enough. We demand that these police officers be charged, booked, and tried in the same manner that everyone else who runs afoul of the law would get. No special treatment. The Black Community will see first hand whether justice is truly blind in Minnesota and throughout the United States. We will be watching.
